Boise Chapter President – Margaret Lancaster
I am not a native born Idahoan, (born in Massachusetts and raised in various areas of the USA) but I haven’t found a more enjoyable, beautiful, and friendly place to raise my family. My husband and I enjoy camping and fishing. I enjoy reading and my pets. One of my loves is to volunteer as often as my schedule permits as I find volunteering a very fulfilling aspect of my life. I have always enjoyed my work because I enjoy working with others. My goals are to maintain good health, a successful career and a happy family life.
My family currently consists of a husband, John, four dogs, three cats, three fish and one Guinea Pig. My children, ages 32, 28, and 23 are obviously grown and mostly gone. I have one step son who is also 32. The older three are married and have children of their own. This means I have nine grand children, ranging in age from almost 11 on Christmas Eve to almost six months old.
I have been employed with the City of Boise for the past 22+ years in different capacities, the most recent being the Secretary to the Director.
Personal/Professional Accomplishments
- Published in the International Library of Photography
- Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)
- Have successfully owned/operated typing business, day care, Avon and currently maintain the books for my husband’s business, Independent Tree Service.
- Named IAAP Boise Chapter Member of the Year for 2006-2007.

Boise Chapter Treasurer – Lynda Birdsong
Lynda Birdsong is a native Californian who has called Idaho home for nearly 23 years. She has been employed as an Administrative Assistant for various companies in California and Idaho for most of her career. 1990 was her first year in PSI (now IAAP) and she joined with a burning desire to learn all she could about being the best Administrative Assistant she could be. She still has the fire and drive and is excited to be back with Boise Chapter. She is currently employed by St. Lukes Regional Medical Center.
Lynda and husband Mike enjoys camping throughout Idaho and traveling when they can. They have 2 kitties, Brandi and Whitni. Lynda is also a successful floral designer and former floral shop owner and you can still catch her designing now and then.
Boise Chapter President-Elect – Barbara Watson
Barbara has worked for the federal government for over 25 years. She has worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Facility Management Service (FMS) for the past eight years. Over the course of her career she has worked in Guam, California, Virginia, Maryland, Scotland, Iceland and Colorado as well as in Idaho.
Barbara has two daughters and three grandchildren. She enjoys playing cards on the computer, needle work and reading.
